According to the ranking International Visitation to the United States: A Statistical Summary of U.S. Arrivals (2007) (pdf), provided by the Office of Travel & Tourism Industries/International Trade Administration/U.S. Department of Commerce,
approximately 131,000 Austrians visited the United States in 2007.The U.S. no longer operates a national tourist office in Austria. The U.S. Travel & Tourism Administration in Washington has also ceased to exist. There is currently no central office for consumer tourist information either within the U.S. Embassy in Vienna, or elsewhere in Austria. Individual state and territorial tourism offices and regional Visitors Bureaus are useful sources of information (see below "Tourism Offices of Individual States and Territories"). An Austrian Driver's License is a valid driver's license for a period of up to one year of stay in America. International Driver's Permits are helpful, but not necessary to drive in the U.S. The Austrian Automobile Club ÖAMTC offers translations of drivers' licenses and provides travel information about the United States.
