U.S. Ambassador to Austria Susan McCaw
will end her Assignment

Vienna, July 3, 2007


The U.S. Ambassador to Austria Susan McCaw has informed President Bush, Secretary Rice and the Austrian government that she would like to end her assignment as Ambassador to Austria toward the end of this year. The exact date of her departure has not yet been determined.

Ambassador McCaw is leaving for personal reasons. An announcement of the nomination of her successor will come from the White House.

The Ambassador described her time in Austria as one of the most "remarkable and rewarding experiences of my life." She also stated that it is a "great honor to serve as the President's representative to Austria, this wonderful and dynamic country."
