Workshop School Librarians

Amerika Haus
Vienna, March 5, 2008

PROGRAM BRIEF (pdf) - prepared by the American Reference Center

Dr. Ross J. Todd

On March 5, the U.S. Embassy Vienna's Public Affairs Section co-organized the last program day of a 3-day workshop for Austrian high school teachers and school librarians. It was the second of its kind ever to take place in Austria. The keynote speaker was Dr. Ross Todd, Director of the Center for International Scholarship in School Libraries at Rutgers University, New Jersey. His topic was "The Culture of Collaboration: Building Instructional Partnerships for Student Learning." The program was attended by 50 teachers from all over Austria who also work as librarians at their high schools. The American Reference Center presented the some of its publications, the "Information USA" CD-ROM, as well as the Newsletter for English Teachers and agreed to stock the school libraries with selected pamphlets and the CD-ROM.
