Chargé Kilner Promotes American Drama
Ambassador's Residence
Vienna, January 28, 2009
Chargé d’Affaires Scott Kilner, U.S. Embassy Vienna, supported Vienna’s English Theater – and interest in American drama – when he hosted a reception January 28 at the Ambassador’s Residence following the opening night performance of Arthur Miller’s classic, “The Price.” Among the 100-plus guests were representatives of Vienna’s cultural, political, and business elite. Written more than 40 years ago, “The Price” retains interest for modern audiences as it wrestles with timeless interpersonal themes, as the Chargé pointed out in welcoming remarks. The play was directed by Robert Prosky, a well-known U.S. character actor (“Hill Street Blues,” “Mrs. Doubtfire”) who died December 8, 2008. His son, Andy Prosky, appeared in the play.
