Clean Fuel and Vehicle Policies in the U.S., the EU and China
Amerika Haus Vienna
Vienna, April 23, 2009
PROGRAM BRIEF (pdf) - prepared by the American Reference Center
During Earth Day week, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s senior policy adviser for international programs, Dennis Leaf, toured Austria to explain the EPA’s clean air and emission policies to Austrian audiences. Perhaps the highlight of the program was Mr. Leaf’s participation as a panelist in an international conference in Vienna focusing on investments and development strategies for renewable energy sources and green technologies in light of the global financial crisis. In addition, he gave presentations at Vienna’s Amerika Haus and the University of Graz on clean fuels and vehicle policies in the U.S., the EU and China to audiences of students, academics, engineers, business people and the general public. And he also found time to meet with representatives of the Austrian automotive industry and green technology sector as well as environment policy makers.
