American Corner in Innsbruck Celebrates July Fourth

University of Innsbruck
Innsbruck, July 2, 2009

The Public Affairs Section, U.S. Embassy Vienna, worked with Austria’s sole American Corner, in the Tyrol province, to mount a July Fourth party. Christopher Quinlivan, Counselor for Commercial Affairs, represented the Embassy and spoke on the occasion. Cooperation was the keyword of his remarks – whether in the shape of interdisciplinary scientific research as promoted by the Corner (attached to the University of Innsbruck) or collaboration in an increasingly interconnected world as stressed in a message by Secretary of State Clinton; Counselor Quinlivan read this to the audience. Guests engaged in lively discussions, and a slideshow of celebrated American icons and topography provided the perfect background.
