PHOTOGRAPHS FOR USE WITH U.S.PASSPORTSTwo identical photographs are needed. They must measure two by two inches (5.5 cm by 5.5 cm). The image size from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head (including hair) shall be not less than 1 inch (2.5 cm) and not more than 1 3/9 inches (3 cm). The photographs must be on photopaper, show a full front view of the bearer in normal street attire, without a hat. Machine pictures, video printed or polaroid are not acceptable except those meeting certain stringent requirements and are available from the photoshops listed below. Dark glasses are not acceptable unless required for medical purposes. The photographs should show a plain, light background and must be taken within six months of the date of application. Children can no longer be included in the passports of their parents or older siblings.
Pictures that are smaller or larger than this box will not be accepted. (Bilder, die kleiner oder viel grösser als dieser Kasten sind, werden nicht angenommen.) Zwei gleiche Photos werden benötigt. Sie müssen 5.5 cm im Quadrat messen. Das Kopfbild muss vom Kinn bis zum Scheitel mindestens 2.5 cm, aber nicht mehr als 3 cm messen. Die Photos müssen auf Photopapier gedruckt sein und die direkte Vorderansicht des Antragstellers zeigen, in normaler Strassenkleidung und ohne Kopfbedeckung. Dunkle Brillen dürfen nicht getragen werden, ausser sie sind ärztlich verordnet. Automatenbilder, Videobilder oder Polaroidbilder können nicht angenommen werden, ausser sie entsprechen bestimmten strengen Vorschriften. Solche Bilder sind bei einem der unten angegebenen Photographen erhältlich. Die Photos sollen einen glatten, lichten Hintergrund haben und innerhalb der letzten sechs Monate aufgenommen worden sein. Kinder können nicht mehr in den Reisepässen ihrer Eltern oder älteren Geschwister eingetragen werden.
