AFGHANISTAN
Die Vereinigten Staaten haben sich langfristig verpflichtet, Afghanistan beim Wiederaufbau nach Jahren des Krieges zu unterstützen. Gemeinsam mit anderen Mitgliedern der internationalen Gemeinschaft stellen die U.S.A. Afghanistan Mittel und Fachkenntnisse in einer Reihe von Bereichen zur Verfügung, etwa humanitäre Hilfe und Unterstützung, Beratung in Sicherheitsfragen, Programme zur Drogenbekämpfung und Infrastrukturprojekte. Die U.S.A. unterstützen die Regierung Afghanistans auch in deren Bemühungen, Rahmenbedingungen für eine lebendige Zivilgesellschaft zu schaffen, die demokratische Prinzipien in einem Umfeld der Rechtsstaatlichkeit unterstreicht und rechenschaftspflichtige und transparente Regierungsformen schafft.
Die Vereinigten Staaten und ihre internationalen Partner bleiben ihrer Verpflichtung treu, den Bewohner/innen Afghanistans bei der Realisierung ihrer Vision eines stabilen, demokratischen und wirtschaftlich erfolgreichen Landes zu helfen und eine afghanische Regierung zu unterstützen, die den Rechten der Frau, den Menschenrechten und religiöser Toleranz verpflichtet ist.
